PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for fully imparting charges to the toner, obtaining preferable image quality and maintaining the quality over a long time, even in a small-sized low-cost development apparatus which does not require a toner density sensor or a toner-replenishing mechanism. SOLUTION: The image forming method is carried out by using the development apparatus, equipped with a developer-carrying body having a magnetic field generating means inside and conveying and holding a two-component developer, containing the toner and a magnetic carrier; a developer-housing section; a toner housing section connected to the developer housing section and housing the toner; and a mechanism for regulating the amount of the two-component developer on the developer-carrying body with a regulating member and to autonomously control the intake of the toner in the two-component developer according to changes in the toner concentration in the two-component developer on the developer-carrying body. A resin coating layer of the magnetic carrier is formed from a graft polymer, having a polyvinyl acetal structure in the main chain and a siloxane compound residue in a side chain.
