PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective controller for a DC circuit which can issue a break command without fail by quantifying the rush ratio of a rush current. SOLUTION: This protective controller is equipped with a current detector 1a which detects a current by a DC current transformer 2 provided in a DC circuit where a DC breaker is connected, a progressive current part 1b which detects a progressive current out of a gradually increasing progressive current flowing to the DC circuit and an abruptly-increasing rush current, a rush current part 1c which detects the rush current, and a break commanding part 1e which issues a break command to break the DC breaker, receiving a signal from either the progressive current part 1b or the rush current part 1c. The progressive current part 1b detects the progressive current under 1MA/sec in rush ratio, and the rush current part 1c detects the rush current not less than 1MA/sec in rush current, and when each of the progressive current and the rush current amounts to a specified value or over, the progressive current part 1b and the rush current part 1c issue the signals to the break commanding part 1e.
