摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt continuously variable transmission having improved shaft strength as well as improved productivity. SOLUTION: In the belt continuously variable transmission, a movable sheave 18 is fitted to the outer periphery of a shaft 14 in an axially movable manner with spline teeth 42, 44 each formed thereon. The shaft 14 has a cylindrical intermediate portion (a cylindrical load supporting portion) 14b with which the tooth tips of the spline teeth 42 of the movable sheave 18 have slide contact, so that radial load is supported by the cylindrical intermediate portion 14b and the spline teeth 42 of the movable sheave 18. Thus, the diameter of the cylindrical intermediate portion 14b is enlarged to a size allowing the slide contact with the tooth tips of the spline teeth 42 of the movable sheave 18, improving the strength of the shaft 14.
