PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive admixing agent derived from a natural origin which can be advantageously used as a plasticizer or a super-plasticizer by itself or in the form of mixture with an other product in (1) general fields of mineral materials or (2) a specific field of mineral binders. SOLUTION: A polysaccharide having a weight-average molecular weight M<SB>w</SB>of at least 500 g/mol and at most 9,000 g/mol, especially between 700 and 7,000 g/mol, and having a degree of branching DB of at least 10%, especially between 20 and 40% is used as the admixing agent for mineral materials.
