A METHOD OF MAKING THE POROUS CARBON MATERIAL AND POROUS CARBON MATERIALS PRODUCED BY THE METHOD

A method for making the microporous carbon with modified pore size distribution and advanced sorption behaviour. The carbon is derived from metal or metalloid carbides. The method uses of oxidant in reaction medium that during the carbide conversion into carbon expands small micropores, or the temperature T1 in the beginning of the reaction is higher than the temperature T2 in following reaction. Both approaches improve the penetrability in outer layers of the microporous carbon particle and can be used separately of each other or combined. The microporous carbon obtained is free of impurities and possesses extremely narrow pore size distribution.
