<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a vehicle to properly travel along a correct lane by making a boundary line detecting device adequately decide a main lane and an increased lane. <P>SOLUTION: A candidate for a white line is detected based upon image information of an input image from a camera 11 in a specified detection period. While white lines 201 and 202 of the main lane 101 are selected based upon the white line candidate, misdetection is decided when an oblique white line 203 of a right turn lane 102 increased from the main lane 101 is selected to set a right turn lane mode; and data of the white line selected as the oblique white line 203 are not employed for a specified period and the white lines 201 and 202 of the main lane 101 which were selected before are employed as data of a white line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
