摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar battery in which characteristics such as conversion efficiency is improved and a method for manufacturing the solar battery. <P>SOLUTION: The solar battery comprises a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer, a p-type semiconductor layer arranged between the first and second electrode layers, and an n-type semiconductor layer arranged between the p-type semiconductor layer and the 2nd electrode layer. The p-type semiconductor layer is a compound semiconductor layer containing a group Ib element, a group IIIb element, a group VIb element, and Zn. The concentration of Zn contained in the p-type semiconductor layer has composition gradient so that the concentration is increased from the first electrode layer to the n-type semiconductor layer in the film thickness direction of the p-type semiconductor layer. It is defined that the electron affinity of the p-type semiconductor layer isχ1 (eV), and the electron affinity of the n-type semiconductor layer isχ2 (eV).
