<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data receiver which stably sends packet data (avoids overflowing a memory), even if an error occurs in time information accompanied with TS packets. <P>SOLUTION: The data receiver 200 comprises a memory 10, a memory state detector 40, a time information error detector 50, and a data read timing generator 30. The memory 10 stores packet data accompanied with time information. The memory state detector 40 detects the remaining data quantity in the memory 10. The time information error detector 50 detects an error occurring in the time information, based on the remaining data quantity detected by the memory state detector 40 and a specified threshold.
