PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead accumulator with an improved cycle life and capacity recovering property after discharging for a long period of time while maintaining a maintenance free property compared to the former lead accumulator with a positive electrode using a Pb-Ca group alloy substrate and electrolyte. SOLUTION: The lead accumulator is provided with the positive electrode which is bismuth alone or both bismuth and tin applied to at least a part of the surface of the substrate consisting of Pb-Ca group alloy and/or positive electrode substance and the acid electrolyte containing aluminum ion as the electrolyte.
