PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film magnetic head which can improve the shape in the magnetic field distribution actually sensed by a magnetic medium, an HGA having the thin film magnetic head, an HAA having the HGA, a magnetic disk device having the HGA, and a method for manufacturing the thin film magnetic head thereof. SOLUTION: The magnetic head is provided with an inductive element including at least a lower magnetic pole, a writing gap layer, and an upper magnetic pole disposed facing the lower magnetic pole via the writing gap layer, wherein the magnetic pole width WP2in the tip of the upper magnetic pole facing the magnetic medium with respect to the track width direction is larger than the magnetic pole width WP1in the tip of the lower magnetic pole facing the magnetic medium with respect to the track width direction, and wherein the distance FPDP2from the tip of the upper magnetic pole to a flare point of the upper magnetic pole is shorter than the distance FPDP1from the tip of the lower magnetic pole to a flare point of the lower magnetic pole.
