PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor of higher output density while taking account of mechanical strength and magnetic restriction in the arrangement of rotor slots. SOLUTION: An odd number of rotor slots 3 per pole are provided at an interpole section and a rotor slot 3a is provided between poles. Since rotor teeth at the interpole section not utilized magnetically in prior art can be disused, magnetic utilization factor of a rotor core 1 is enhanced and a rotor of higher output density can be provided.
