PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method of receiving information for specifying a content and viewing/listening a specified content easily using the information for specifying the content thus received. SOLUTION: The content specifying/designating unit 2 receives information 12 for specifying a content from a content specification/designation unit 10. Based on the received information 12 for specifying a content, any one of content control, i.e. start viewing/listening, reserve viewing/listening or storage, or view/listen a stored content, is carried out.
