The clock face has a flat, mostly cylindrical, face carrier (1) with a hole (2) in the middle through which the watch hand shaft passes. The carrier (1) has further holes and gaps for attaching components. The figures etc. (3) are printed on the surface (4) of the carrier (1). The liquid crystal display (5) is underneath or completely within an opening (6) in the carrier (1). The face has one or more electronic component groups for controlling the LCD (5). These mostly comprise a circuit substrate (7), one or more electric connectors (8) between substrates (7) and the LCD (5) and different electronic components (9). The face also has one or more batteries or accumulators (10) for supplying current to the electronic circuits. An electric connection (12) is provided for receiving or outputting electric information so far as this must be exchanged with external components. The clock face is made of plastic or ceramic.
