<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive assist device capable of realizing precise drive assist control without depending on the vehicle speed. <P>SOLUTION: The drive assist device supports the operation of the vehicle by using turning with an actuator turning the steered wheel of the vehicle. The drive assist device is equipped with an image pick-up means (100) photographing the front of the vehicle, a detection means (101) detecting offset of the vehicle relative to the traveling route based on the front image photographed, determination means (103, 105, 109, 115 to 116) determining the control amount of the actuator requiring for setting the offset to a predetermined value based on the offset to be detected, and a control means (116) controlling the actuator. The determination means determines (109) the control amount so that the vehicle lateral acceleration generated due to the turning of the control amount becomes constant irrespective of the vehicle speed when the offset value is the same. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
