PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce dangerousness resulting from a Denial of Service (DoS) aiming at global addresses and from wiretapping or the like.

SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus 101 judges whether data communication with an information processing apparatus 102 connected on the same network as that connected to the information processing apparatus 101 is performed via a router 104. When having judged that the data communication with the information processing apparatus 102 is performed not via the router 104, the information processing apparatus 101 starts data communication with the information processing apparatus 102 by means of a local address.
