PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of measuring absorbance properly without adjusting the concentration of a sample solution. SOLUTION: This absorbance measuring device 100 is equipped with a light irradiation part 5 having an emission end 5a for guiding light outputted from a light source part 2 for outputting prescribed light and emitting the guided light toward a sample stored in a light-transmissible microplate P; a reflection part 11 for reflecting light emitted from the light irradiation part 5 and transmitted through the sample and the microplate P; a light receiving part 6 having a light receiving end 6a for receiving light reflected by the reflection part 11, for guiding the received light; and a detection part 8 for detecting light guided by the light receiving part 6. The device has a constitution equipped with a moving part 9 for adjusting the intensity of light irradiated toward the sample or the detection part 8, by moving at least either of the emission end 5a and the light receiving end 6a to thereby adjust the distance to the reflection part 11.
