PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the dilution of an oil by a fuel in a diesel engine recirculating a blow-by gas in a cylinder. SOLUTION: Based on a time W required for rotation per unit crank angle (for example, output occurrence frequency of crank angle sensor), it is determined whether combustion occurs or not before the injection of the fuel by an injector (timing CA1).
