<p>The elevating platform has a base (2) movable in the vertical direction between two uprights (3,4). Belts or cables (12,13) are connected to the base, with at least one connected to the side of the base facing the upright or on the edge region of the base adjacent to this upright, and is guided on this upright. One belt or cable of the one upright and one of the other upright are connected by their ends to a winding drum (11).
