Biomass filter for part-purified water leaving industrial oil separator, is divided by sieve into biomass filtration section and outlet section

The rectangular tank of the filter is in cast concrete, with a fall of 1%. It is divided by a sieve assembly (4) inserted in slide rails. The mesh is 10 mm. The feed tank so formed, contains biomass (1). Over this, trickler pipes (2) with 1 mm perforations are fitted to the tank cover. These distribute water from the source uniformly, onto the biomass. Water diffusing through the biomass is intercepted in the outlet tank formed by the partition. It leaves via an outlet. On the upper surface of the tank, a shaft covering (8) gives access for removal of saturated biomass from the tank.
