The road vehicle steering wheel (1) a circular rim (2) mounted on a T-shaped spoke arrangement (3) on a central hub (4). The steering wheel rim has touch sensors (10) connected to an alarm. They are positioned on the top (8) and bottom arc (9) of the rim when it is in the straight-ahead position to encourage driver to hold wheel in correct position. The two arcs in the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions are devoid of sensors and cover 65 degrees of arc. The top arc extends 40 degrees on either side of the centerline and the bottom arc extends through a total of 150 degrees.
