The device which can be installed in the flue gas duct has a cover (2) which fits gas-tight and for conduction on an associated opening (10) on the duct (1). The inside of the cover has an electrode wire (7) which is clamped taut through ventilators (8) or a self-supporting rod (7) as the spray electrode held by an insulator. The device has a high voltage transformer with rectifier function for building up direct current voltage between the spray electrode (7) and the exhaust gas duct (1). the electrode wide for the spray electrode can be clamped between the ends (5, 6) of a curved holder (4) made of insulating material and provided on the inside of the cover.
