After harvesting and threshing or removal of the crop the remaining stalks are cut and pressed into bales with the appropriate device. A rubber belt (4) is guided around several rotating pulleys (6). The belt (4) comprises a multitude of shaping elements designed as transversal pipe segments (17) folded into a parcel (18) at one of their ends. The parcel (18) is asymmetrically positioned. The outer profile (6.2) of the pulleys (6) is divided into a multitude of parallel positioned ribs (6.3). The belt (4) has wide teeth (20) at its inner surface and two smaller teeth (19) opposite each of the wide teeth (20) at the outer surface.
