PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device having a layer forming member constituted so that an image is not deteriorated even when an image forming action is continuously executed for a long term. SOLUTION: This developing device is provided with a developer carrier 2 rotated while carrying developer 3 at the surface so that the developer 3 is fed to an electrostatic latent image carrier and a latent image is developed and the layer forming member 1 regulating the thickness of the developer 3 carried by the carrier 2 and forming the layer thereof on the carrier 2. Then, the surface roughness of the surface S1 of the forming member 1 facing the carrier 2 at an upstream side from a position E where the forming member 1 abuts on the carrier 2 is set to be smaller than that of the surface S2 at a downstream side from the abutting position E. |
