The assembly has a guide system (15) to move a seat (100) between a forward position and a backward position along a longitudinal direction. The system is placed under the seat in a location along the direction. A locking device (16) locks the seat in either of the forward position or backward position. The device is placed in another location along the direction distinct from the former location. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a seat fixation assembly.
