PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wideband antenna to be used for a microwave band and a millimeter wave band. SOLUTION: This dielectric antenna is composed by having a resonator equipped with a dielectric substrate, a base conductor layer having a power supply slot hole formed on the dielectric substrate surface, dielectric layers formed with a thickness ofλ/4-λ/2 (λis a free space wave length in a dielectric at a center frequency), and a single or plurality of opening conductor layers formed on the surface of the dielectric layers just above the power supply slot hole or inside the dielectric layers, and having openings in parts just above the power supply slot hole, and radiates from the resonator an electromagnetic wave of an electric field in a direction parallel with the surface of the dielectric substrate. Vertical conductors are formed at intervals wider thanλ/2, or no vertical conductors are formed around the opening of at least one dielectric layer out of the dielectric layers interposed between the base conductor layer and the opening conductor layers.
