PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer capable of reducing an amount of ink to be wasted during an operation of automatic maintenance in a simple structure by controlling an action interval of the automatic maintenance corresponding to a use condition of a user, a method of maintenance for the inkjet printer, and a maintenance program of the inkjet printer. SOLUTION: This inkjet printer 1 comprises recording heads (21-24) for recording information on a recording paper P by selectively ejecting ink from at least one nozzle hole (21a-24a) and a recovery mechanism 17 for automatically performing a maintenance operation to the recording heads (21-24). The inkjet printer 1 further comprises a CPU 41 for detecting a recording condition of the inkjet printer 1 and for controlling the action interval of the automatic maintenance by the recovery mechanism 17 based on the recording condition detected in the above.
