PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize time consumption for idling of scanning and to realize efficient recording of an image by switching between one-path recording and multi-path recording at an adequate timing even when a black region and a color mixture region reside to be mixed in each of right and left parts of an image in a serial type color inkjet recorder. SOLUTION: Recording data is divided into a region to be recorded only by an ink of black and a region to be recorded by inks of colors including not only black but also other colors and it is determined whether or not one-path recording can be carried out by each main scanning in the recording. This recorder has a process for determining whether or not a time period necessary for the main scanning in the recording can be reduced rather than a case that the one-path recording is not carried out when it is determined that the one-path recording can be carried out. The scanning in the recording in which it is determined that the time period thereof can be reduced is carried out perform the recording switched to the one-path recording.
