PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a making method of the tablet of a cylindrical tablet by which the generation of cracking and the breaking of the center pestle are prevented. SOLUTION: The tablet making method uses a rotary type powder compression molding press in which the powder which is filled in the mortar is subjected to compression molding by respectively moving upper and lower pestles in the axial directions with the press rolls by passing a mortar 12 and the upper and lower pestles 10, 11 which are fixed to a rotary disk, through between these upper and lower press rolls in accordance with the rotation of the rotary disk, and which is provided with the center pestle which is erected in the sliding direction of the lower pestle passing the pestle top of the lower pestle in the middle in the horizontal direction of the pestle top of the lower pestle and the center hole which is bored in the middle in the horizontal direction of the pestle top of the upper pestle and into which the center pestle is inserted when the compression molding is applied, wherein the tablet is made by using the center pestle formed so that the difference between the minimum diameter of a part of the center pestle by which the center hole of the cylindrical tablet is formed and the basic dimension diameter in the design of that part, is within 0.04 mm.
