PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance method for a multi-tubular reactor for making the reaction state in respective reaction tubes within the multi-tubular reactor as uniform as possible. SOLUTION: In the maintenance method for the multi-tubular reactor, a part of the reaction tubes within the multi-tubular reactor is arbitrarily selected, a difference pressure between the reaction tubes is measured, is compared with the average value of difference pressures of reaction tubes into which an unused catalyst of same kind is packed, and the reaction tube which shows an abnormal pressure is separated, and after predetermined treatment is performed to the separated reaction tube, is returned to the reactor together with reaction tubes having a selected normal range.
