The high resistance yarn, for use in protective gloves, is a core yarn of metal twisted or cladded with para-aramide and/or aramide fibers. The core is wholly shrouded by the aramide fibers. The aramide fibers are spun in a stretch broken process. The core yarns have an outer shrouding of cotton fibers and the like, for a comfortable handle against the skin. The glove fabric is an interlock knit, a woven, knitted or nonwoven material.
