PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand an input image to generate an expanded image without generating fine distortion in the expanded image.

SOLUTION: This image processing device for expanding an input image to generate an expanded image includes: an expansion part for obtaining expanded blocks corresponding to images formed by respectively expanding a plurality of blocks obtained by dividing the input image at a predetermined enlargement factor; a searching part for searching for similar regions having correlation in the input image higher than a predetermined condition with respect to the respective expanded blocks; and a setting part for setting pixel information of regions located at positions corresponding to the blocks in the expanded image based on the pixel information in the similar regions.
