<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for restoring OPSK symbols or QAM symbols with which different constellation and hierarchy modes can be mounted and easily made concrete, and a circuit structure in response to the method. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method for restoring a bit sequence (b, b') comprising QPSK or QAM symbols, in which an associated receive probability (w, w') is assigned to each receive bit (b, b'). The receive probability (w, w') is adaptively determined taking into account the channel characteristics.
