PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyurethane foam in which a substance adsorbing volatile organic compound can sufficiently develop its effect as it maintains the moldability and the physical properties as a foam body, and provide a method for producing urethane foam that does not need any special apparatus or special process step for coating the adsorption substance for a volatile organic compound and can reduce the production cost. SOLUTION: In the polyurethane foam, the surface layer is formed with a mixture of a mold releasing agent and an adsorption substance for a volatile organic compound. This urethane foam is obtained by coating a mixture of a mold releasing agent and a substance for adsorbing a volatile organic compound on the forming faces on the mold cavity, then the raw material for polyurethane foam is fed into the inside of the cavity to carry out the foaming and chemical reaction, thereby the mixture is transferred from the forming surface of the cavity to the surface of the urethane foam body to form the surface layer.
