PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor employing an error diffusion method for preventing deterioration in image quality, by generating a dot faithful to an inputted gray level in which the problems of "delay in dot generation" and "trailing" are solved without losing the essential features of error diffusion method and error diffusion method of high processing rate is employed, and to provide image processing method and program. SOLUTION: The image processor comprises a means of converting input image data into output image data having two kinds or more of gray level per pixel, and a means of diffusing an error generated from the converting means to pixels not yet converted by a diffusion matrix, wherein the diffusion matrix is arranged with coefficients such that a remarked pixel is located at the centroid position of the diffusion matrix.
