PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellently reliable spark plug wherein floating of a terminal is suppressed when glass sealing is applied, and cracking and peeling of a conductive seal material after glass sealing is applied are suppressed. SOLUTION: The conductive seal material layers 12, 13 of this spark plug 100 is composed of base glass and a conductive filler. The base glass contains≥55 weight % and≤65 weight % of a Si component in terms of a SiO2 oxide component,≥22 weight % and≤35 weight % of a B component in terms of a B2O3 oxide component,≥0.2 weight % and≤2 weight % of a Ca component in terms of a CaO oxide component,≤2 weight % of an Al component in terms of Al2O3 oxide component, and≥4 weight % and≤8 weight % in the total quantity of a Na component and a K component in terms of a Na2O oxide component and a K2O oxide component respectively, and it also contains both of the Na component and the K component.
