PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion gate which enables all support members as component members of the gate to be vertically installed without reference to an angle of inclination of an installation surface, even if the gate is installed not only on a horizontal plain land but also on a slope sloping in the opening/closing direction of the gate, which enables an opening/closing motion which maintaining the vertical attitudes of the support members, and which accomplishes the above function by using a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This expansion gate is equipped with a plurality of vertically-directed parallel support members 1-5, and pantagraph-like crosspiece members 11a-14e which are laid in the state of being pivotally mounted among the respective support members 1-5. The expansion gate is opened/closed by the operation of making the crosspiece members 11a-14e expanded/contracted and deformed so that the respective support members 1-5 can be separated from or brought closer to each other. Length changing mechanisms Lm, which enable the length to be changed on the coaxial places of the crosspiece member 11a-14e, are provided in the intermediate parts of the crosspieces 11a-14e. Thus, when the gate is installed on the slope, the lengths of the crosspiece members 11a-14e are changed in such a manner as to correspond to the angle of inclination, so that the support members 1-5 can be kept in the vertical attitudes and so that the opening/closing operation can be performed.
