<p>A map data update system has a navigation device for performing processing with regard to navigation by using map data and has a map data update device for providing the navigation device with updating data for the map data. The map data are divided for management into predetermined area units, the navigation device requests update of map data of a desired area to the map data update device, the map data update device provides the navigation device with updating data for the requested desired area and map data for another area having a predetermined relationship with the desired area.</p> |
