<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residual chlorine meter capable of obtaining an increase and decrease in current value sufficient with respect to an increase and decrease in the concentration of free chlorine even if a buffer solution is not used, in measuring the concentration of free chlorine of high concentration, and a method for measuring the concentration of residual chlorine. <P>SOLUTION: A reference electrode for keeping the potential impressed to a working electrode constant is further provided and the impressed potential to the working electrode based on the reference electrode is set to a -1.5 to -0.3V vs. Ag/AgCl range.
