PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enrich an edit function by making it possible to perform exact editing according to user's wish with a simple operation in the case when the user wishes to delete a part of tracks. SOLUTION: An editing apparatus is provided with a section setting means which establishes a delete section by the first point and the second point inputted by a designation operation means; a management information update means by which update operation of management information can be performed so that data of the established delete section may be deleted. In order to input the second point, the designation operation means enables a point designation operation, a designation change operation and a decision operation. If the point designation operation for the second point is performed, the section setting means performs rehearsal reproduction of prescribed sections which are assumed to be the section coupled one or a plurality of sections recorded with data to be reproduced during the prescribed time to the first point on the reproduction time axis based on the second point and one to a plurality of sections recorded with data to be reproduced during the prescribed time from the second point.
