PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter including a laminate which is formed with a plurality of dye-containing resin layers on the surface of a transparent resin in the state of maintaining contact with each other, is exhibited with optical characteristics, such as desired color tones and absorption characteristics, and is small in surface roughness and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The optical filter includes the laminate which is comprised of a transparent base material, a dye-containing resin layer A formed on the surface of the temperature base material and containing a dye and a binder resin, a dye-containing resin layer B formed on the surface of the dye-containing resin layer A and containing the dye different in chemical structure from the dye contained in the dye-containing resin layer A and the binder resin and is≤400Åin the surface roughness Ra on the surface of the dye-containing resin layer B.
