PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy saving device for application to an oil burning engine largely improving mixing effect of fuel oil and air and allowing sufficient and complete combustion of the fuel oil in the engine. SOLUTION: The energy saving device for the engine of the invention is constructed so that it includes an engine system and an ion generator, one or more ion discharge wires are installed on any one of an air inlet of the engine, an air transport pipe before air filter, an air filter, an air transport pipe behind air filter, an oil and gas mixing chamber, an oil and gas blast pipe, an engine main body and an engine air return pipe, ion is fed into the engine system, one end of the ion discharge wires is connected to the ion generator and another end of the ion generator is connected to a power source.
