PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a revolving construction machine which prevents an external cover from making contact with peripheral members during traveling or rotation thereof, to thereby protect the external cover from being deformed or damaged. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the revolving construction machine, a left rear intermediate cover 19, a left rear upper cover 20, a right intermediate cover 22, and a tank cover 23 constituting the external cover 18, each have a cover radius R<SB>C</SB>which is smaller by a radius dimensionΔR than a radius R<SB>F</SB>of a frame arcuate section of each of right and left side frames 14, 13, and a left skirt cover 21 is recessed inner than an overhanging section 13D of the left side frame 13 by an equal value to a radius dimensionΔR. Thus the external cover 18 can be arranged at a location that is recessed inner than the right and left side frames 14, 13, and therefore even if the construction machine makes contact with peripheral wall surfaces etc. during traveling or rotation thereof, the side frames 14, 13 make contact with the wall surfaces etc. prior to the external cover 18, as guard members, and therefore the external cover 18 is prevented from making contact with the peripheral wall surfaces etc. and protected from being deformed or damaged.
