PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To modify an automobile which has body shell components, an internal lining, and a deformable element absorbing energy, wherein the deformable element is formed as a thin metal sheet having a thin, elongated hollow profile and at least one fixed leg and one deformable leg, the fixed leg being connected to the internal lining and the deformable leg extending from the fixed leg to be located to face the body shell components, so as to provide an automobile in which the internal lining and the deformable element can be mounted on the body shell components easily and noises between the deformable element and the body shell components can be avoided sufficiently. SOLUTION: According to the modified automobile, the inner lining 11 is fixed to body shells 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 via a support member 13 which is deformable and has a deforming characteristic adapted for the deformable element 23, and the deformable leg 26 is so arranged as to keep a gap AB between the leg 26 and the body shell components.
