Connection structure for a portable computer has a connector (12) which is connected to the computer and has first (14) and second (16) interfaces. The connector can be used to connect to a first external peripheral via the first interface, e.g. a disk drive, or an external monitor via the second interface. An independent claim is made for a connection structure that has two connection interfaces and a switch module for switching between the computer's integral display and the external monitor.
