<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition enhanced in reliability such as clogging or ink droplet deflection without deteriorating image quality (bronzing resistance) and image preservation properties (light resistance, gas resistance and moisture resistance), and an inkjet recording method using the same, and a recorded matter. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition comprises at least water, a colorant and a carboxyl group-bearing aromatic compound, and further contains at least one selected from the group consisting of a sodium ion, a potassium ion and an ammonium ion, and a lithium ion.
