PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the configuration of a circuit for switching so that an antenna having better reception sensitivity can be selected from a plurality of antennas, and to perform efficient switching. SOLUTION: The receiver comprises a switch 1 for switching antennas so that one of a plurality of antennas ANT1, ANT2 is selected, based on a control signal; signal detectors 21, 22 for detecting the envelope of a signal received by each of the plurality of antennas ANT1, ANT2; and a signal level comparator 3 for comparing the intensity of each envelope detection signal, corresponding to the plurality of antennas ANT1, ANT2 detected by the signal detection sections 21, 22, and transmitting a control signal for selecting the antennas ANT1, ANT2 corresponding to a stronger signal to the switch 1 for switching antennas. The transmitter/receiver has a switch 4 for switching transmission/reception that switches the connection between an antenna selected by the signal level comparator 3 and a reception circuit 5 or a transmission circuit 6, in addition to the above configuration.
