PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external gear pump capable of suppressing generation of local negative pressure and suppressing generation of cavitation. SOLUTION: In the external gear pump 1-1 provided with a housing 10 having an intake port 10a and a delivery port 10b formed thereon, a drive gear 20 rotatably supported in the housing 10, a driven gear 30 meshing with the drive gear 20, a circulating passage 50 circulating part of working fluid sucked in a suction side space part A in a housing 10 from the intake port 10a by rotary motion of the drive gear 20 and the driven gear 30 and delivered to the delivery side space part B, a pressure differential valve 40 keeping communication of the delivery side apace part B and the circulating passage 50 according to flow rate of working fluid delivered from the delivery port 10b, the circulating passage 50 is provided with a mouth part 51 opening at a part where meshing of the drive gear 20 of the suction aide space part A and the driven gear 30 separates.
