The use of compositions containing one or more ether amine antimicrobial agents and/or ether amine derivative antimicrobial agents in an amount effective to disinfect and/or preserve medical devices is described. Solutio ns containing one or more ether amine antimicrobial agent- and/or ether amine derivative antimicrobial agent-containing compositions and methods of making and using the same are also described.
