<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily obtain location information, distance/direction information, etc. on a specified mobile communications system, irrespectively to a telephone conversation status and distance of the specified mobile communications system. <P>SOLUTION: If a telephone number of a mating portable telephone is inputted and "a position representation key" is pressed (S1), a requestor side portable telephone transmits the telephone number and a source position request signal to a control station via a base station (S2). The control station extracts the source position data ( LAT, LONG, Altitude) of the mating portable telephone from the database and transmits it to the requester-side portable telephone. The requestor side portable telephone receives this source position data (S3), and furthermore, inputs own source position data (LAT, LONG, Altitude)(S4).
