PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a restraint for minimizing the distortion of a rotor end winding in the circumferential direction and axial direction, while restraining the axial movement of end winding. SOLUTION: The rotor body (40) of an electric machine has an end winding (50) supported by a plurality of toothed rakes (58) arranged in the circumferential direction at an interval, wherein the end winding passes between the teeth in arch pattern from the rotor body and returns back to axial orientation in the rotor body. The rake is supported on an axial beam (56), secured to the rotor body. An end disc (52) is secured to a shield (72) located on the end winding at the opposing end of the beam. The rake, beam and end disc form an axial restraint of the end winding. The end disc is made heavy at a selected circumferential position, in order to resist the inclination of the end winding to distort toward an elliptical shape or a nonconcentric shape.
